Ninh Binh - Floodwaters have risen, affecting about 3,000 people living in Kenh Ga village, Gia Vien commune.

On August 29, speaking with a reporter from Lao Dong Newspaper, the leader of the People's Committee of Gia Vien Commune, Ninh Binh Province, said that due to the heavy rain caused by storm No. 5, combined with floods from upstream, the water level of the Hoang Long River rose very quickly, and Kenh Ga village, Gia Vien commune is currently isolated in floodwater.

Kenh Ga village has about 3,000 people living quarantined for the past 3 days. Previously, this village was in the old Gia Thinh commune, located outside the Hoang Long river dike, so almost every year, when the water rose, the whole village was isolated by floodwaters.

For families here, houses built in high places or on high foundations are flooded on half of the first floor, while low-rise houses are flooded on the first floor. The only means of transportation to Kenh Ga village at this time is boats and ferries.

The leader of Gia Vien Commune People's Committee added that as the water recedes, the commune and units and forces will join hands to help people overcome the consequences and clean up the environment.
