On the morning of March 3, the Vietnam Road Administration said that it has officially organized the collection of expressway use fees for component projects of public investment under the North-South Expressway Project in the East phase 2017-2020.
Accordingly, toll collection is implemented on 5 route sections including: Mai Son - National Highway 45; National Highway 45 - Nghi Son; Nghi Son - Dien Chau; Vinh Hao - Phan Thiet and Phan Thiet - Dau Giay, starting from 10 pm on March 2.
In the initial operation phase, from 10 PM on March 2nd to 8:30 AM on March 3rd, the non-stop electronic toll collection system on the entire route was operated synchronously, basically ensuring stability and smoothness, recording more than 10,000 transactions.
During operation, some transactions arose lacking input information. These cases were recorded by toll collectors to create offline transactions according to the correct procedures. Some technical situations also appeared in the early stages of operation but were promptly handled by relevant units in coordination, without affecting people's traffic.
To ensure that expressway toll collection work takes place safely, smoothly and effectively, the Vietnam Road Administration recommends that vehicle owners proactively stick end-to-end tags, maintain sufficient balance in non-cash payment accounts when traveling through expressways; comply with the road sign system, instructions from functional forces in the toll station area and strictly comply with regulations on vehicle load.
