Before the reflection of port businesses, ship owners... about the situation of people spontaneously raising aquatic products in the area entering and leaving Dung Quat port, posing a potential risk of maritime unsafety, in recent days, Dung Quat Port Border Guard Station in coordination with Quang Ngai Maritime Port Authority, Binh Thanh Border Guard Station... has organized propaganda and mobilized people to move cages and rafts out of the maritime safety channel.

Aquaculture households are required to sign commitments to comply with regulations on security and order and maritime safety in the waters of Dung Quat port.
Immediately after the campaign, illegal aquaculture households in the area seriously complied and urgently moved cages and rafts to other locations as requested by functional agencies.
Mr. Nguyen Nhat Nam, residing in Binh Son commune, said that in recent days, border guards have regularly come to mobilize his family to move snakehead fish cages out of the area in and out of Dung Quat port. "Dismantling cages takes quite a lot of time and costs, but this is a regulation, so I and the surrounding households are strictly complying," Mr. Nam said.
Similarly, taking advantage of favorable weather, Mr. Nguyen Phat, residing in Binh Son commune, is also busy dismantling aquaculture cages out of Dung Quat port area to move to another location. Mr. Phat shared: "When the border guard force came to mobilize, my family complied to dismantle and move cages to ensure waterway traffic safety for ships entering and leaving the port.

Talking to reporters, Major Vu Hoang Anh Tuan, Deputy Head of Dung Quat Port Border Guard Station, emphasized that aquaculture in the area entering and leaving Dung Quat port poses a risk of maritime unsafety, affecting security and order at the port border gate.
According to Major Tuan, the unit has proactively coordinated with the authorities of Binh Son, Van Tuong communes and Quang Ngai Maritime Port Authority to organize patrols and reviews of aquaculture households using cages and rafts in the Dung Quat port water area. In parallel with the inspection work, functional forces are promoting propaganda to help people understand the regulations on maritime safety and security and order in the port border gate area.
Through propaganda, people basically agreed and strictly complied. We have requested 67 aquaculture households in Dung Quat port area to sign commitments to dismantle cages and rafts, move them to safe locations, and not affect maritime activities. Cases of intentional non-compliance will be strictly handled according to regulations," Major Tuan said.
