A statement from World Vision International in Vietnam on May 9 said that this organization and Archer Daniels Midland (ADM) have successfully implemented the irrigation project "Ensuring irrigation water sources, improving farmers' lives" in Hai Lang, Quang Tri province.
The project is implemented in coordination with the People's Committees of Hai Lang district and local communes, which has significantly improved the irrigation system in the target communes of Hai Lang district, contributing to improving agricultural productivity and increasing income for vulnerable households.
The announcement said that the project "Ensuring irrigation water sources, improving farmers' lives" demonstrates the common vision of the partners on promoting sustainable change in the local community.
By improving the irrigation system and increasing agricultural productivity, the project not only increases household income but also creates a foundation for long-term stability and development. These advances help families have better access to nutrition, education and health care services.

After 3 months of implementation (from February to April 2025), the project has reached more than 2,300 households - about 8,600 people - in 3 communes of Hai Truong, Hai Dinh and Hai Hung of Hai Lang district. By improving livelihood opportunities for parents, this initiative has had a positive impact on more than 2,000 children and their family members.
Before the project "Ensuring irrigation water sources, improving the lives of farmers", the project's budget sponsor also implemented a number of projects to support sustainable development in Vietnam in 2022 and 2024, including the project "Sustainable development for farmers" and "Promoting sustainable livelihoods towards a circular economy" in Quang Nam and Quang Ngai provinces. These projects have contributed to community development and improved the lives of the most vulnerable children.
Speaking at the project summary event, Mr. Donald Wilflingseder - Chairman of ADM Asia Pacific Animal Nutrition Branch - expressed his pride in contributing to efforts to support children and families in development. He emphasized that the successful results from the project in Hai Lang "showed a positive impact when professional factors, resources and community leadership converged".
