Raising public awareness through advocacy
Ms. Chu Kim Thanh - Operations Director of PRO Vietnam said that PRO Vietnam has identified one of the priority strategies, especially in the first 5 years, as communication to increase public awareness through propaganda and education. During the past 5 years, PRO Vietnam has been fortunate to have the cooperation and companionship of large and prestigious media agencies.
“We can see a clear change in awareness in recent years in the business community as well as in the residential community about EPR, green production, waste classification at source, green consumption... thanks to communication work. Thanks to the media, PRO Vietnam is known by the business community and trusted to accompany us” - Ms. Kim Thanh shared and affirmed that the role of communication is extremely important in raising public awareness.
According to Ms. Kim Thanh, in addition to promoting policy regulations, media agencies must further explore the meaning of these policies, analyze the opportunities when implementing them and the risks if not participating...
According to journalist Tran Trong Dung, Vice President of the Vietnam Journalists Association, the press is the most effective and timely communication tool, through activities aimed at capturing the needs of businesses on sustainable development that are aiming for high efficiency. In addition, businesses themselves transforming green and developing sustainably are a source of inspiration for press agencies, evoking social responsibility which is the mission of the press, thereby helping to convey meaningful communication messages to readers and society.
As a pioneer in the practice of a green economy, Ms. Tran Ngoc Anh - Senior Director of External Affairs of HEINEKEN Vietnam shared that HEINEKEN Vietnam's ambition is not only in production but also in the value chain. Because sustainable development activities cannot create a strong impact when implemented alone. Therefore, all businesses need the cooperation and companionship of all parties. And the press agencies help connect and share good practices and innovative solutions from large, medium and small businesses.
As Vice President of the Green Development Journalism Club towards Net Zero (Green Media Hub), and Editor-in-Chief of Ho Chi Minh City Law Newspaper, Mr. Mai Ngoc Phuoc affirmed: Right from its inception, Green Media Hub has been identified as an indispensable part of the sustainable development business community towards Net Zero.
“In the near future, we will develop communication cooperation plans based on the strengths of each press agency with each group of businesses according to criteria such as green energy, green transportation, green consumption, green transportation, etc. We hope that businesses will enthusiastically respond and join us,” said journalist Mai Ngoc Phuoc.
