In the context that the world energy market is still volatile, the Ministry of Industry and Trade directs key traders and distributors to proactively develop source plans, ensuring gasoline and oil supply to the nationwide distribution system.
The Domestic Market Management and Development Department (Ministry of Industry and Trade) requests traders to proactively create sources, ensure sufficient supply, and absolutely not let interruptions occur in any situation.
Regarding bio-gasoline, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Nam, Deputy Director of the Domestic Market Management and Development Department (Ministry of Industry and Trade) said that the Ministry of Industry and Trade has been proactively coordinating with ministries, branches, associations, and relevant agencies and units to closely monitor the supply and demand of E10 gasoline, E5 gasoline, base gasoline and ethanol fuel (E100); coordinate with key enterprises to ensure stable supply, urge the operation of remaining blending and mixing facilities according to the roadmap, and at the same time strengthen proactiveness in domestic raw material sources. In particular, strengthen inspection and supervision of the preparation of E100, base gasoline supply and implementation of the bio-gasoline roadmap in localities; strictly control the quality of fuel, blending, mixing, distribution and business of gasoline and oil; promptly detect and strictly handle violations according to legal regulations.
If gasoline and oil are fuel for circulation, then electricity is the foundation of modern production. At the end of June 2026, Vietnam's electricity system continuously recorded new load records, the North for the first time exceeded 30,000 MW, and the whole country reached nearly 58,500 MW.
Faced with a sharp increase in demand due to extreme heat, the system has had to increase power transmission from the Central and Southern regions to the North through the 500 kV North-South power lines.
According to Mr. Trinh Quoc Vu - Deputy Director of the Electricity Department, Ministry of Industry and Trade, it is expected that during the extreme heat waves of July and August this year, the national load may reach 60,000 MW and the load of the North may reach 32,000 MW.
Therefore, the Ministry of Industry and Trade has directed the National Electricity System and Market Operation Co., Ltd. (NSMO) to prepare scenarios for operating the electricity system in extreme conditions. At the same time, it has directed Vietnam Electricity Group, power generation units and the National Power Transmission Corporation to implement investment projects to upgrade the transmission grid to ensure response to extreme conditions, ensure smooth operation of the national transmission grid, especially transmission from the South and Central to the North.
According to representatives of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the power generation unit and Vietnam Electricity Group (EVN) must prepare primary fuels to meet the increasing demand for electricity, especially power plants in the Northern region. The Ministry of Industry and Trade directed EVN to urgently build and invest in building energy storage systems (BESS) at the nodes of the load to help us have more flexibility in operating the power system and providing sufficient capacity during peak hours.
In the long term, in the years 2027 to 2030, we need more new power sources to put into operation, especially renewable energy sources, solar power, and wind power in the North," Mr. Vu said.
