On December 19, Long Thanh International Airport (Long Thanh Airport) in Long Thanh Commune, Dong Nai Province, opened its first flight with the participation of Politburo member, Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh and the delegation, on flight Boeing 787 of Vietnam Airlines taking off from Noi Bai Airport, landing at Long Thanh Airport.
Speaking at the inauguration ceremony of the projects and the opening of the first flight at Long Thanh airport, Mr. Vu The Phiet - Chairman of the Board of Directors of Vietnam Airports Corporation (ACV) said: There is still much work to be done to complete Long Thanh airport, operate safely and effectively to become a smart, green airport with 5-star standards towards an international transit airport in the region.
According to ACV, Long Thanh airport is shaped as a "Smart - Green Airport" that meets international 5-star standards with breakthrough technology highlights owned by ACV, including: Seamless digital journey such as biometrics application (biometrics) from check-in, self- bag drop to departure, helping passengers not need to use traditional identification documents.
At the airport, many technologies owned by Vietnamese people are put into operation such as non-stop toll collection, smart parking with AI cameras, real-time traffic regulation, helping to enhance the experience right from the entrance gate...
Passengers coming to the station use a modern procedure system with check-in kiosks, automatic luggage sending, traditional counters with integrated biometrics. Security checks, departure and boarding stages are automated, shortening time but still ensuring absolute safety.
In addition, Long Thanh airport also has a smart operating system such as: Airport Operation Center (Smart APOC) and the most modern fully automated luggage handling system (BHS), directly connected to the national population database.
According to the reporter of Lao Dong newspaper, Long Thanh airport passenger terminal, when welcoming the first guests to visit and experience with a large, modern space, the stylish lotus design quickly attracts all eyes.
Natural light overflows the dome and skylight system, combined with lobbies, checkpoints, corridors and security gates arranged scientifically, creating a feeling of ventilation, seamlessness and impression right from the first steps.
