On the afternoon of September 12, Mr. Dang Xuan Phong - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Phu Tho Provincial Party Committee (former Secretary of the Lao Cai Provincial Party Committee) - visited and presented gifts to the people of the Lang Nu resettlement area, Phuc Khanh commune, Lao Cai province.
At the memorial stele house, Mr. Dang Xuan Phong respectfully burned incense to commemorate 67 victims of the particularly serious landslide that occurred on the morning of September 10, 2024.
After that, the Secretary of the Phu Tho Provincial Party Committee and the working delegation visited the Lang Nu Memorial House - a place displaying many images and artifacts associated with the tragic memories and the strong revival process of the village.
Here, Mr. Phong expressed his emotions when recalling the difficult days a year ago. At that time, as Secretary of the Lao Cai Provincial Party Committee, Mr. Phong was directly present at the scene, directing rescue work, overcoming the consequences, and encouraging people to soon stabilize their lives.
On this day in 2024, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh also visited Lang Nu and directed the urgent construction of a resettlement area for the people.
Under the close direction of the Government, the drastic participation of the Lao Cai provincial political system and the support of the Tam Long Viet Fund - Vietnam Television and benefactors, after nearly 3 months, a spacious resettlement area was completed, opening a new journey for the people here.
Visiting Lang Nu today, the Secretary of Phu Tho Provincial Party Committee was happy to see the lives of the people gradually stabilizing and having sustainable livelihoods.
Mr. Dang Xuan Phong hopes that people will continue to strive, overcome pain, and build an increasingly better life.
On this occasion, Mr. Phong presented many gifts to households in the resettlement area.
