On September 3, the People's Committee of Gia Lai province said it had assigned the task to relevant units to speed up the site clearance progress and implement the economic corridor project in the area.
Currently, most localities have handed over construction sites, only the Bien Ho commune area with many households that have not agreed to the compensation plan and have not yet relocated. The Provincial People's Committee assigned the People's Committee of Bien Ho commune to propagate and mobilize households to comply with the State's policy on site clearance.
At the same time, the commune will implement the payment of compensation and support to people according to the plan approved by competent authorities, immediately after the funding source is arranged.
The Department of Finance is responsible for arranging sufficient funds to serve the payment of compensation and support. The Provincial Construction Investment Project Management Board must require construction units to focus on human resources, equipment, and organize construction appropriately to speed up progress.
During the site clearance process, the contractor is responsible for supporting people in relocating trees, houses, and architectural objects to promptly hand over the site for the project.
The Eastern Economic Corridor Project has a total investment of VND1,325 billion, of which VND900 billion is from the central budget, the remaining VND425 billion is from the provincial budget. The project is 15.14km long, contributing to expanding development space for Gia Lai, serving people's livelihood and tourism.
Currently, the value of the construction volume has reached more than 460 billion VND; items such as Bien Ho Bridge, Krom 1 and Krom 2 bridges are being accelerated.
It is expected that by the end of December 2025, the project will be completed and technically opened to traffic according to the direction of Deputy Prime Minister Bui Thanh Son during his recent working trip to Gia Lai.
