More than 1,000 workers have jobs
Buon Don district, one of the localities with many difficulties in Dak Lak province, has long depended on small-scale, fragile agriculture for the majority of its life. The farming method is still outdated, with little application of science and technology, leading to low productivity and unstable income.
Faced with this situation, job creation has become a key and key task in the local poverty reduction and sustainable development strategy.

In order to improve livelihoods and improve the lives of people, especially ethnic minority and mountainous workers, Buon Don district has actively implemented Sub-project 3 under Project 5 in the National Target Program for Sustainable Poverty Reduction.
Synchronous solutions such as organizing vocational training, replicating effective economic models and especially connecting the labor market have initially brought positive results.
According to statistics from the Department of Internal Affairs of Buon Don district, the total number of employees aged 15 and over is 40,326 people. Of which, in the past time, about 1,181 people have had jobs created, a number that is not high, but is a positive signal for changes in awareness and action of local authorities and people.

District and commune authorities, along with organizations such as the Youth Union, Women's Union, and Farmers' Union, have played a role as a bridge between workers and employers.
Propaganda and mobilization activities help workers abandon the mentality of waiting and relying on others, gradually proactively learning a trade, finding a job, and improving their own abilities.
Interest in private enterprises
Of the total 17,716 households with more than 74,000 people in the district, there are currently more than 5,300 poor households, accounting for nearly 30%. Of which, the majority are ethnic minority households. This poses an urgent need to create stable job opportunities, suitable for local qualifications and characteristics.

According to data from the Cu M'gar - Buon Don Regional Tax Department, there are about 1,535 business households, 121 enterprises and 30 cooperatives in operation in the district.
Although the number of private enterprises is still modest, this is an important force in unblocking the on-site labor market. The district is actively coordinating to ensure that recruitment needs from these businesses are covered to the villages.
Employment Service Centers, along with union officials, went to the site to propagate and instruct people to register for short-term vocational training, participate in seasonal and general work at factories and enterprises.
Although initially confused by the industrial working environment, under the support of officials in charge of culture and society, workers are gradually adapting and stabilizing their work.

Mr. Nguyen Huu Truyen - Head of the Department of Internal Affairs of Buon Don district - affirmed: "Resolving employment is not only an immediate story, but a long-term strategy for Buon Don district to improve the quality of life for people, especially ethnic minorities".
"With the synchronous participation of the entire political system and the determination of workers to rise up, it is hoped that Buon Don will gradually escape the list of poor districts, towards sustainable development in the near future" - Mr. Nguyen Huu Truyen, Head of the Department of Internal Affairs of Buon Don district, added.
