Stable fuel supply
At the Q1 press conference organized by the Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department, Ca Mau Provincial People's Committee on the morning of April 9, Ca Mau Department of Industry and Trade said that the whole province has 613 retail fuel stores operating, connecting with 31 key traders and distribution units, forming a widespread supply network from urban to remote and isolated areas.

The reserve warehouse system includes 8 warehouses with a total capacity of about 9,720 m3, along with about 4,000 m3 leased outside the province, contributing to increasing the ability to regulate cargo sources. Consumption demand in the area is estimated at about 365,000 - 400,000 m3/year, while the total supply reaches about 450,000 - 480,000 m3/year, mainly from domestic oil refineries and imported sources in the Southern region.
With the current capacity, the basic supply meets demand in normal conditions. If fully stockpiled, the amount of fuel can meet over 30 days of consumption when supply disruptions occur.

Mr. To Minh Duong, Deputy Director of the Department of Industry and Trade of Ca Mau province, said: "The current supply is still guaranteed, the province does not lack fuel. We have developed operating scenarios to proactively respond when the market fluctuates, especially in cases where some stores reduce sales or supply is interrupted.
Accordingly, retail stores are required to maintain continuous operations, not to arbitrarily close or restrict sales. Key businesses must ensure stable supply flows. In case more than 10% of stores show signs of stopping sales, functional sectors will regulate the source of goods in a timely manner.
In an emergency situation when the supply decreases by more than 30%, the province will apply allocation according to priority order, in which transportation and essential sectors are guaranteed first. At the same time, it is possible to apply selling according to limits to prevent speculation and stockpiling.
The Ministry of Industry and Trade also recommends that people should not stockpile fuel because of the potential risk of fire and explosion, especially in hot weather conditions, causing local pressure on the distribution system.
Proactive water sources, ensuring production
Implementing the direction of the Provincial People's Committee, the Department of Agriculture and Environment has requested localities to urgently review and statistically count households lacking domestic water, classify them into specific groups to have appropriate solutions, from areas without water supply works to places where the system is degraded or underground water cannot be exploited.

Mr. Pham Van Muoi, Deputy Director of the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Ca Mau province, said: "We request localities to closely review the reality, correctly identify water shortage subjects to have fundamental solutions, not to let people lack domestic water in the dry season.
In particular, the Provincial People's Committee has allocated 1.5 billion VND to install water tank systems at key points, prioritizing Bien Bach commune - an area heavily affected by drought.

Not only serving daily life, the water problem for production is also urgently posed. In the context of limited fresh water sources, the Department of Agriculture and Environment recommends that people proactively convert to appropriate crop structures, apply water-saving production models, and maximize storage water sources.
For aquaculture, especially shrimp, it is necessary to closely monitor salinity, avoid exceeding the threshold causing damage. For rice and crop production, it is necessary to adjust the crop schedule reasonably, minimizing risks due to water shortage.

In the context of many adverse factors simultaneously impacting, proactively ensuring the supply of fuel and domestic water for production not only helps stabilize people's lives but is also an important condition for Ca Mau to maintain the pace of development, striving to achieve the two-digit economic growth target in the second quarter.
