On July 16, the Steering Committee for searching, repatriating and identifying martyrs' remains of Ca Mau province organized a conference to draw experience from the implementation of the 500-day and night campaign to promote the search, repatriation and identification of martyrs' remains.
According to the Steering Committee, after thoroughly grasping the documents of superiors, the Provincial Military Command has proactively advised and issued directing documents, regulations and operating programs, contributing to the synchronous deployment of the search and repatriation of martyrs' remains in the area.
Through propaganda and mobilization, the Steering Committee has received many valuable sources of information from people and veterans about the burial location of martyrs who have not been repatriated. From this information, functional forces verified 2 martyrs' graves in Bien Bach commune, and at the same time coordinated with Team K90, Political Department of Military Region 9 to repatriate 2 sets of martyrs' remains at Hung My temporary cemetery.

Regarding the work of identifying martyrs' remains, the province has completed excavation of 263 unidentified graves at Tran Van Thoi Martyrs' Cemetery, collected 237 remains samples and handed them over to the Institute of Criminal Science, Ministry of Public Security for DNA testing.
After completion at Tran Van Thoi Martyrs' Cemetery, Ca Mau will continue to take samples at Phuoc Long Martyrs' Cemetery, where there are still 761 graves with unidentified information. According to the plan, by the end of 2026, the province will complete the sample collection for 3,382 sets of martyrs' remains at 11 martyrs' cemeteries in the area.
Speaking to direct at the conference, Vice Chairman of Ca Mau Provincial People's Committee Ngo Vu Thang highly appreciated the advisory role of the standing agency of the Steering Committee in performing tasks in the past time.
He requested departments, branches, and localities to continue to thoroughly grasp the Party and State's policies on searching, repatriating, and identifying martyrs' remains; promote propaganda, collect and process information, and mobilize the participation of the entire political system and people.
In addition, units urgently deploy sampling and hand over samples of remains at the remaining cemeteries, striving to complete the sampling to serve the identification of martyrs' remains in the province in 2026.
On this occasion, the Steering Committee of Ca Mau province launched an emulation movement to implement the 500-day and night campaign with specific targets and tasks to create motivation for units to complete the goal of searching, repatriating and identifying martyrs' remains.
