On August 28, Can Tho City Police said that, implementing the direction of the City Party Committee and People's Committee of Can Tho City on organizing activities to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the successful August Revolution, the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2) and the National Championship motorbike race at Can Tho Stadium, the City Police held a meeting to inspect and deploy a plan to ensure security and order for this series of key events.
In his speech, Colonel Vu Thanh Thuc - Deputy Director of Can Tho City Police - emphasized that these are events of profound political and social significance, on a large scale, of interest to leaders of the Party, State, provinces and cities in the region, attracting a large number of people and tourists.
Therefore, the task of ensuring absolute security and safety is identified as a top priority requirement, of decisive nature, and must not let any negligence occur.
The City Police Department requires the Police of units, localities and professional forces to focus on grasping the situation, synchronously deploying plans, proactively advising and closely coordinating with agencies, departments, branches, and armed forces, ensuring absolute political security, social order and safety in the city before, during and after the festival.
According to the plan, the 80th Anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day on September 2 will take place at 7:00 p.m. on September 2 at Tay Do Park, Hung Phu Ward.
Immediately after the program, the city will organize a live TV bridge for the welcoming art program at three locations: Tay Do Park (main bridge point), Xa No Park (old Hau Giang province) and Urban Area 5A (old Soc Trang province), with the participation of many artists from inside and outside the city.
In particular, at 9:30 p.m. the same day, people will enjoy the high-altitude fireworks display at Tay Do Park and the low-altitude fireworks display at the remaining 2 locations, creating a joyful and exciting atmosphere in the joy of the people of the whole country.
To serve the people and tourists, the City Police will synchronously deploy forces, vehicles and working measures. In particular, focusing on key tasks, such as: ensuring political security, social order and safety; maintaining security and order in areas where festivals, art programs and fireworks are held; organizing traffic flow and regulation, preventing congestion; strengthening the fight against criminal crimes, drugs, and social evils; maintaining patrol forces, being ready to handle unexpected situations; at the same time, ensuring information security, promptly preventing activities that take advantage of social networks to propagate and distort.
The police of Hung Phu, Ninh Kieu, Vi Tan and Phu Loi wards - where festivals, art programs and fireworks are directly held - are assigned the key task of closely following the area, mobilizing maximum patrol and control forces, closely coordinating with professional departments in protecting the area, maintaining security and order on the spot, serving the people and tourists attending.
The City Police also coordinated with the City Military Command to deploy a patrol, control, and safety plan at fireworks display locations and the Can Tho Stadium area - where the National Championship Motorcycle Racing Cup will take place.
Concluding the meeting, Colonel Vu Thanh Thuc affirmed that the entire force must uphold the sense of responsibility, strictly comply with orders, synchronously deploy working measures, promptly handle arising situations, maintain security and absolute safety so that the city's important events can take place successfully, contributing to spreading the spirit of national pride, strengthening the people's trust in the leadership of the Party and the State.
