On the afternoon of October 29, the Southern Motor Vehicle Inspection Center of Quang Tri said that the unit had just issued a warning about the situation of many subjects impersonating inspection staff calling vehicle owners, asking to change vehicle inspection stamps according to the new model via social networks or online applications.
Recently, many car owners in Nam Dong Ha ward, Cam Lo commune, Hieu Giang commune... have received calls from unknown numbers or via Zalo, claiming to be officers of the Southern Quang Tri Motor Vehicle Inspection Center.
The subjects instructed people to connect to Zalo under the name "Tran Dinh Phong", send messages with vehicle information, license plate, chassis number, engine number and vehicle owner's name to create trust, then request a callback to confirm and pay a fee to be issued a new model identification stamp.
Mr. N.H.D (Cam Lo commune) and Ms. N.T.D (Hieu Giang commune) said that these people spoke in other localities but claimed to work at the Inspection Center No. 61 Ly Thuong Kiet, Nam Dong Ha ward.
Mr. Doan Viet Bac - Director of the Southern Motor Vehicle Inspection Center of Quang Tri affirmed that there is currently no policy to change the valid inspection stamp model. The issuance of stamps and inspection certificates is only done directly at the center, not online or by phone.
According to Mr. Bac, in just the past few days, the unit has received about 10 cases of feedback on the above tricks. Previously, in September 2025, the Center issued a similar warning when a group of subjects impersonated inspection officers appeared, deceiving and instructing people to change stamps on smartphones.
