Built hundreds of years ago, the old Ninh Binh station (Hoa Lu ward) was an important railway traffic unit of Ninh Binh province in the past. However, this old station later stopped operating.
According to the reporter of Lao Dong Newspaper, after many years of suspension, the construction items of the old Ninh Binh station are in a state of serious degradation, with many locations overgrown with weeds.
Going deeper inside is a desolate, shabby scene. Peeling mortar walls reveal red bricks. Even the inside of the station has become a garbage dump. The yard area and many locations are used by people as parking spaces for cars.
People living near this area said that this old station has not been in operation for many years. The inside is degraded, allowing grass to grow, very shabby, causing loss of urban beauty.
The recent report of the Ninh Binh Provincial People's Committee sent to the Ministry of Construction clearly states the transfer of national railway infrastructure assets at the old Ninh Binh station.
Accordingly, the old Ninh Binh station area no longer performs the function of a railway station; there are many shortcomings and difficulties in land management, urban order, security and order, traffic safety, environmental pollution, causing frustration in the community, voters have repeatedly petitioned to overcome them.
To improve urban areas and develop the local socio-economy, the People's Committee of Ninh Binh province requested the Ministry of Construction to promptly consider and decide to transfer assets of national railway infrastructure at the old Ninh Binh station to the People's Committee of Ninh Binh province for management and handling.
