On the afternoon of November 19, inspection delegation No. 3 of the Ministry of National Defense led by Lieutenant General Le Quang Minh, Deputy Director of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army, conducted a comprehensive inspection of the Command of Coast Guard Region 4. Joining the delegation were Major General Tran Van Xuan, Deputy Political Commissar of the Vietnam Coast Guard, and heads of functional agencies of the Command.
In 2024, the entire Regional Command has united, overcome difficulties, implemented synchronously and drastically, creating strong changes in all aspects of work. The Regional Command has maintained the order and quality of training work; completed 100% of training content and time; organized safe sea drills, achieving good results.
In law enforcement at sea, the Regional Command has directed nearly 200 ships and boats to carry out combat readiness, patrol, inspect, control, propagate, and resolutely handle, contributing to preventing Vietnamese fishing vessels from violating IUU. Inspected, received, and handled 791 violating vessels; contributed nearly 35 billion VND to the State budget from administrative fines and sale of confiscated assets.
In addition, the unit has also handed over more than 45 ships to the authorities of Kien Giang, Ca Mau, Soc Trang provinces for handling, investigation, and prosecution according to regulations. Effectively organized the mass mobilization program "Coast Guard accompanies fishermen" in the 4 provinces of Kien Giang, Ca Mau, Bac Lieu, Soc Trang. Especially through the law dissemination and propaganda sessions and the contest "I love the sea and islands of my homeland" to leave a good impression on the Party Committee, government and people.
Lieutenant General Le Quang Minh highly appreciated the achievements of the Coast Guard Region 4 Command in the past year. At the same time, he requested the Region Command to review the plans for 2024 and prepare all plans for 2025, especially preparing for Party Congresses at all levels, especially the Party Committee of the Region Command.
Continue to strictly maintain order and combat readiness, search and rescue; grasp the situation, proactively advise and propose, effectively handle situations, avoid being passive and surprised. Organize well the work of patrolling, checking, controlling, protecting the security and sovereignty of seas and islands; combat IUU violations in border waters, combat smuggling and trade fraud.
Ensure good logistics, technical and financial work for the unit's regular and ad hoc operations, ensuring the unit's safety in all aspects.
