Cao Bang - The locality has just approved an agricultural extension program worth more than 50 billion VND, promoting sustainable agriculture.

Cao Bang Provincial People's Committee has just issued a decision approving the "Agricultural Extension Program for the period 2026-2030" with a total budget of more than 50.4 billion VND, focusing on transferring technical advances, developing green agriculture and linking production with experiential tourism.

The province will focus on training and improving the capacity of grassroots agricultural extension teams and farmers; and at the same time build and replicate 97 demonstration models in the fields of cultivation, animal husbandry, forestry and aquaculture.

One of the notable points is the integration of ecotourism and community tourism development into agricultural production.

The models are not only aimed at economic efficiency but also create conditions for tourists to participate in experiencing agricultural harvesting, learning about craft villages and local culture, contributing to increasing income for people.

The program will implement many specific model groups. In the field of cultivation, the province builds high-quality indigenous rice production models, organic rice and combined fish-rice farming to adapt to climate change.

Cao Bang develops models of raising honey bees under fruit trees, planting temperate trees such as pears and plums, and selling goats for free-range to create unique products to serve tourists.

Notably, circular economy and biosafety models are also being promoted, such as commercial pig farming applying biological products to treat waste, and developing poultry and waterfowl under the forest canopy.

Meanwhile, the field of forestry and medicinal herbs focuses on growing anise, cinnamon and medicinal plants under the forest canopy to form raw material areas for processing.

For aquaculture, the program encourages the application of high technology such as Biofloc in fish, shrimp, and frog farming, and at the same time develops cage fish farming on rivers and lakes, contributing to reducing environmental pollution and improving production efficiency.

The total cost of implementing the program is more than 50.4 billion VND, of which the state budget supports the majority, and the rest is contributed by the people.

To implement effectively, the province will apply synchronously solutions on mechanisms, policies, and techniques such as VietGAP, organic agriculture, digital transformation; integrated with national target programs.

The Provincial People's Committee assigned the Department of Agriculture and Environment to preside over and coordinate with relevant units to organize implementation, inspection, supervision and periodically report results.
