After being affected by storms No. 10 and 11, the old Cao Bang city stadium, now belonging to Thuc Phan ward, was seriously damaged, posing a risk of unsafety.
Faced with this situation, from November 2025, Thuc Phan Ward People's Committee has organized the dismantling of degraded items, cleared the scene, and implemented a plan to renovate the stadium area.
At the same time, the Standing Committee of Cao Bang Provincial Party Committee agreed on the policy of implementing the project to renovate and embellish the stadium land area of Thuc Phan ward according to the order and procedures of the urgent public investment project.
Talking to Lao Dong Newspaper, Mr. Nguyen Tuan Anh - Chairman of Thuc Phan Ward People's Committee said that the project is required to be completed before January 28, 2026. Currently, contractors are focusing manpower and machinery to accelerate construction progress.
According to the design plan, the project includes many items such as: Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum area, central square, artificial turf football field, multi-purpose sports field, exercise area combined with play for children, stands, green tree system - garden, service kiosk and static parking lot. Total investment is about 30 billion VND.
PV's record on January 1 shows that the entire stadium ground has been cleared, the old stands and fences have been dismantled, ready for the next construction items.
Many people living around the area expressed their desire that the renovation should highlight the historical value of the site, where President Ho Chi Minh visited Cao Bang in 1961 and attended a rally with nearly 20,000 officials and people of ethnic groups.

Regarding this project, during the inspection on December 21, 2025, Chairman of Cao Bang Provincial People's Committee Le Hai Hoa requested Thuc Phan ward to closely coordinate with the consulting unit, soon complete the design plan and organize construction, ensuring simultaneous goals: preserving history, educating traditions; serving the community, improving the quality of life; adapting to climate change, sustainable development, promoting tourism and socio-economic development.
The province's general view is to preserve the historical and cultural space associated with the imprint of President Ho Chi Minh in Cao Bang, identifying this as a public space serving the people, not converted to commercial purposes.
Chairman of Cao Bang Provincial People's Committee also noted the application of technology such as virtual reality, QR codes to recreate history, increase the effectiveness of traditional education; and at the same time link public space renovation with residential area renovation around, creating a harmonious and civilized urban appearance.
According to requirements, the ground items, playgrounds, and green trees need to be basically completed before January 28, 2026, to celebrate the 85th anniversary of Uncle Ho's return to the country to directly lead the Vietnamese revolution, and to put the space into service for the people before the Binh Ngo Lunar New Year 2026.
Large items such as the statue of President Ho Chi Minh will be deployed later, ensuring proper procedures, procedures and solemnity.
