Recently, the Steering Committee for the Bac Kan - Cao Bang Expressway Construction Investment Project held its first meeting to discuss solutions to speed up the investment preparation phase.
According to preliminary information, the expressway is about 81 km long, designed with 4 lanes, a speed of 80 km/h, with a total investment of nearly 30,000 billion VND from the central budget.

Of which, more than 20km will pass through Cao Bang, the starting point of the project connecting to Cho Moi - Bac Kan expressway, the end point is in Tan Giang ward (Cao Bang province).
According to the reporter's records, the locality is aiming to start construction of the Bac Kan - Cao Bang expressway project in the first quarter of 2026.
Recently, Cao Bang province has also reached an agreement to establish a specialized project management board, researching the application of digital technology and artificial intelligence in surveying and supervising construction.
In parallel with preparing for the Bac Kan - Cao Bang expressway project, the locality is directing to speed up the construction progress of the Dong Dang - Tra Linh expressway phase 1.
On October 29, Vice Chairman of Cao Bang Provincial People's Committee Hoang Van Thach continued to inspect the progress and quality of construction.
At the inspection, according to the report of the investor's representative, the two provinces of Cao Bang and Lang Son have handed over more than 99.7% of the site according to the design boundary.
Currently, investors are maintaining more than 200 construction teams, 1,500 machines and 3,300 engineers and workers working 3 consecutive shifts.
To date, the total output of the project has reached nearly 42% of the contract value, equivalent to about VND 4,740 billion; the progress of the route has reached over 68%.

Recently, floods have caused landslides in many locations, damaging service roads and temporary bridges, but Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Hoang Van Thach still emphasized the locality's direction not to change the goal of opening phase 1 in 2025.
The remaining output is very large while the construction time is not much, so he suggested that the project enterprise and the construction units focus on mobilizing maximum human resources, machinery and equipment to meet the continuous construction time.

For locations on the progress line, there are solutions to compensate for the delayed volume, and adjust the detailed construction progress of each item.
The locality is expecting 2 axis expressways along the border to soon form, creating a foundation for breakthrough socio-economic development, bringing the province closer to the new trade center of the Northeast region.
