The environmental impact assessment (EIA) report of the Dinh Khao bridge construction investment project connecting Vinh Long and Ben Tre provinces under the form of public-private partnership is being consulted by the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment with the aim of completing and enhancing the exploitation capacity of National Highway 57, overcoming traffic congestion at Dinh Khao ferry route, ensuring connection with the national highway and expressway system, shortening travel time between Vinh Long and Ben Tre with provinces in the Mekong Delta region, strengthening regional connectivity between provinces, Dinh Khao bridge opens up opportunities to promote investment, creating favorable conditions for the two provinces of Vinh Long and Ben Tre in particular and the Mekong Delta in general to develop comprehensively in the future.
Therefore, investing in the construction of Dinh Khao bridge connecting Vinh Long and Ben Tre provinces under the public-private partnership model is extremely necessary.
The project has a total length of about 4.27km with the starting point at intersection T.902 in My An commune, Mang Thit district, Vinh Long province; adjacent to the National Highway 57 bypass project (Dinh Khao bridge approach road) at Km0+000.
The end point intersects with National Highway 57 at about Km11+270, in Phu Phung commune, Cho Lach district, Ben Tre province. Investment in construction according to the scale of a grade III plain road, design speed Vtk=80km/h; the route and bridges on the route (including Cai Cao bridge crossing the Co Chien river branch on the Ben Tre side) Bm=12m (2 lanes), completion phase Bm=20.5m (4 lanes), site clearance completed once; Dinh Khao bridge crossing the Co Chien river is Lc=1.54km long, completion Bc=17.5m (4 lanes).
According to the EIA, the project permanently occupies about 20.6 hectares of land, including: about 0.1 hectares of rice land, about 15.54 hectares of fruit tree land, 0.54 hectares of perennial tree land, about 1.53 hectares of residential land and 2.89 hectares of traffic and river land.
The total investment of the project is nearly 3,000 billion VND.
Construction of the project will be carried out from the third quarter of 2025 to the fourth quarter of 2027. The construction period of the road is 30 months. The construction period of the bridge is 30 months.
