On February 10, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Dao My signed a decision approving the investment policy for the 500 kV Krong Buk Substation (TBA) project and connection. With a total investment of more than 2,100 billion VND, on an area of more than 25ha, this is identified as a key energy infrastructure project of the locality.
Accordingly, this project aims to relieve capacity for renewable energy sources (solar and wind power) that are developing strongly in Dak Lak, connecting local power sources to the national power system.
In addition, the project also helps provide safe and reliable power sources and minimize power loss for the Central Highlands region.
The project has a operating term of 50 years, calculated from the date the competent State agency decides to allocate land, lease land or permit the change of land use purpose.
The project is being implemented in Dak Lak province, including the construction of a new 500 kV Krong Buk substation in Ea Kiet commune; expansion of the existing 220 kV Krong Buk substation in Pong Drang commune; construction of a power line connecting the 500 kV line passing through Ea Kiet commune and the 220 kV line passing through Ea Kiet, Ea Tul, Cu Pong and Pong Drang communes.
The project is invested by the National Power Transmission Corporation (EVNNPT), expected to be completed within 12 months from the handover of the site and completion of legal procedures.
