Information from the Hanoi Urban Railway Project Management Board (MRB), on April 13, tunnel excavator TBM No. 2 named "Tao Bao" officially reached station S12 - Hanoi Station, completing the entire 4km tunnel drilling journey through 4 underground stations of the Nhon - Hanoi Station metro line.
This is an important milestone, marking the completion of the entire tunnel route, contributing to promoting the progress of the capital's key traffic project.

TBM No. 2 is the last machine to complete the drilling journey, passing through subway stations S9 (Kim Ma), S10 (Cat Linh), S11 (Van Mieu) and S12 (Hanoi Station). The event is not only meaningful in terms of progress but also affirms the capacity of the investor and Vietnamese contractors in mastering complex urban tunnel construction technology.
TBM No. 2 started drilling from station S9 (Kim Ma) on February 3, 2025, successively passing station S10 on September 15, 2025, station S11 on January 13, 2026 and completing the journey on April 13, 2026.
During the construction process, the machine operated safely, installed thousands of tunnel shells, strictly complied with technical standards, ensuring safety for works on the ground, especially in densely populated areas.
The completion of the second tunnel officially connects the entire tunnel system of the Project. Previously, TBM No. 1 named "Thần tốc" completed the drilling of the first tunnel pipe on December 1, 2025.
According to MRB, currently, the underground part of the project including 4km of tunnel, 4 underground stations and 1 escape well is being constructed simultaneously, reaching about 63% of the progress; package CP03 alone (construction of tunnels and underground stations) reached 76.69%.
In parallel, the units continue to implement the remaining items such as structures in tunnels, underground slopes, completing stations, lane conversion roads, garages and Thu Le lakeside roads.
