Located on the main route of National Highway 32C, Tu My bridge crosses the Bua river connecting Van Xuan commune with Dong Luong commune of Phu Tho province. The bridge has been serving the people for nearly 3 decades (since 1996), and is now degraded.
Previously, the Department of Transport of Phu Tho province (now the Department of Construction) implemented the project of Overcoming the consequences of natural disasters, repairing and ensuring traffic in step 2 of Tu My bridge at Km26+500 National Highway 32C. The total investment of the project is 27 billion VND.

Since the end of April 2024, Toan Thinh Joint Stock Company has won the construction package of the above project with a price of more than 22.7 billion VND and has been under construction until now.
According to the reporter of Lao Dong Newspaper in late October 2025, the current status of Tu My bridge repair compared to the time when cars with less than 7 seats were allowed to cross the bridge at the beginning of the year (January 2025) is not much different.

It can be seen that the area of the two abutments at the bridgehead has been reinforced but not yet completed; around the bridge piers below, there are still many pre-established steel frames to serve the construction and reinforcement of the bridge.
Carts and trucks still cannot travel across the bridge, many drivers did not know that the bridge was still closed, so they moved to both ends of the bridge, then had to sadly return.

Mr. Nguyen Kim Thinh - a resident of Dong Luong commune - shared: "Because Tu My bridge is still closed to traffic, many trucks and large boxes have to go around provincial road 313C, through the narrow and densely populated village road of Dong Luong commune to Song Bua bridge on the inter-regional road, which takes a lot of time and can damage the village road in the long run. We people really hope that Tu My bridge will be repaired soon".
On October 31, speaking with a reporter from Lao Dong Newspaper, Mr. Nguyen Van Nguyen - Director of the Phu Tho Traffic Construction and Maintenance Project Management Board (under the Department of Construction) - said that due to weather and hydrological conditions that have not allowed, the bridge piers under the river are currently unable to be constructed.

"The water level of the Bua River must recede by about 2m to be able to construct the bridge piers below. The investor and contractor will regularly monitor weather and hydrological developments, and have prepared construction plans. Immediately after the water recedes, they will immediately deploy, striving to complete the bridge repair before Tet" - Mr. Nguyen informed.

According to research, over the past 4 years, after the deterioration, Tu My bridge has been continuously banned for repairs.
Specifically, previously, from May 21, 2021, the Department of Transport of Phu Tho province announced a ban on all vehicles with a total load of over 13 tons from traveling through the bridge because the bridge must be repaired.
More than 3 months later, on August 31, the traffic diversion was announced to be extended until 5:00 p.m. on September 20, 2021.

Nearly a year later, on September 10, 2022, Tu My bridge continued to be notified to ban vehicles with a total load of 13 tons or more from circulating, serving the repair work because previously, there were were were were were wereumps on the four hats, chest wall and both sides of the four M0 bows.
On October 28, 2022, the Department of Transport allowed traffic to be restored through Tu My bridge.

After the Phong Chau bridge collapse on September 9, 2024, the Department of Transport issued a document notifying the limitation of vehicles crossing Tu My bridge and Trung Ha bridge ( north of Da river, on National Highway 32), the reason being that it was under repair.
After many months of construction, from January 21, 2025 (up to now), the Department of Transport of Phu Tho province has announced that passenger cars with 7 seats or less can travel through Tu My bridge, with a maximum speed of 40km/h.
