Chairman of Thai Nguyen Provincial People's Committee requests localities and departments to proactively respond to heavy rain, floods, flash floods, and landslides

According to the bulletin of the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, from the evening of July 27 to the night of July 28, the provinces: Thai Nguyen, Tuyen Quang, Phu Tho, Lao Cai, Lai Chau, Dien Bien, Son La will have moderate to heavy rain, commonly from 50-120mm, locally over 250mm, with the risk of heavy rain intensity (>100mm/3h).

In thunderstorms, there is a possibility of tornadoes, lightning, hail; flooding in low-lying areas, flash floods on small rivers and streams, landslides on slopes.

Faced with the above situation, the Chairman of Thai Nguyen Provincial People's Committee has issued a document requesting the Chairmen of People's Committees of communes and wards to closely monitor weather developments, organize information and timely warnings to people.

Proactively review and inspect areas at risk of flooding, flash floods, and landslides; be ready with plans to evacuate and relocate people and property out of dangerous areas when necessary.

Arrange forces and vehicles according to the "4 on-the-spot" motto to promptly respond and support people to overcome the consequences of natural disasters.

Localities organize forces to guard, control, support, and guide to ensure safe traffic for people and vehicles.

The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested the Department of Agriculture and Environment to organize serious duty shifts; closely monitor weather and natural disaster developments; update and promptly provide information about heavy rain, floods, inundation, flash floods, landslides, tornadoes, lightning, and hail to localities.

The Department of Industry and Trade directs inspection, review, and implementation of measures to ensure the safety of mines and tunnels for mineral exploitation, reservoirs and downstream areas, especially small hydropower reservoirs and key reservoirs.

Thai Nguyen Hydrometeorological Station strengthens the monitoring of weather and natural disaster developments and forecasts of natural disasters that may occur in the area; promptly provides forecasting and warning information.
