Thai Nguyen is implementing a series of transport projects connecting both banks of the Cau River. When completed, the bridges will reduce pressure on existing routes. At the same time, expand development space and increase regional connectivity.
In which, the 2 Quang Vinh 1 and Quang Vinh 2 bridge projects in the center of Thai Nguyen province have a total investment of more than 1,500 billion VND, started in early 2025.

Recorded by PV at the beginning of May 2026, at the Quang Vinh 1 bridge construction site, dozens of workers and machinery and equipment are being mobilized to deploy construction.
After more than 1 year of construction, many items of Quang Vinh 1 bridge have gradually taken shape. The contractor is focusing on constructing foundations, welding steel structures, completing the bridge frame and handling technical items according to plan.
In parallel with the construction progress, site clearance, technical infrastructure relocation and resettlement arrangement are also being implemented synchronously.
At the Quang Vinh 2 bridge construction site, construction units are deploying drilling, filling, making foundations, and pressing piles. Many construction teams are organized continuously to ensure the set plan.
For locations still facing site clearance problems, functional agencies are continuing to remove obstacles in order to soon hand over clean site clearance to contractors.


Talking to a reporter from Lao Dong Newspaper, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Tung - Deputy Head of the Management Board of Construction Investment Joint Stock Company 18 (the construction unit), said that contractors are currently mobilizing manpower and machinery to construct items related to foundations and T3 piers.
Construction work is being urgently deployed before the upcoming rainy and flood season. According to the construction schedule, 2 bridges will be completed by December 2026. Units are focusing on speeding up to meet the schedule," Mr. Tung said.
After completion, Quang Vinh 1 and Quang Vinh 2 bridges will contribute to completing the transport infrastructure of the central area of Thai Nguyen province. At the same time, expanding the urban space along the Cau River, increasing inter-regional connectivity and promoting socio-economic development.

Meanwhile, the Gia Bay Bridge new construction project started in February 2026. The project has a total investment of more than 600 billion VND, aiming to replace the old Gia Bay Bridge that has deteriorated after decades of use.
The project belongs to group B, level I traffic. The new bridge is designed with cables, more than 180m long, 23.5m wide, and synchronously invested in the bridgehead road system.
According to PV's records, at the construction site, dozens of workers and machinery are being mobilized to deploy construction. Part of the old bridge has been dismantled, and the contractor is focusing on constructing new platforms and foundations.

According to the plan, the new Gia Bay bridge will be completed in 2026. The project spans the Cau River, playing an important role in the transportation network in the central area of Thai Nguyen province.
At the same time, improve flood drainage capacity, ensuring safety for people and vehicles participating in traffic.
