On January 14, Lao Dong news source reported that the Inspection Committee of An Nhon Town Party Committee (Binh Dinh) disciplined Mr. Duong Thanh Cuong - Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman of Nhon Phuc Commune People's Committee with a warning.
Previously, on the evening of May 29, 2024, Binh Dinh Provincial Police coordinated with An Nhon Town Police to ambush and arrest vehicles illegally mining sand in My Thanh village (Nhon Phuc commune), with a volume of more than 2,400m3.
After receiving information about the incident, the Inspection Committee of An Nhon Town Party Committee conducted an inspection when there were signs of violations against the Nhon Phuc Commune Party Committee for the 2020-2025 term in the leadership and direction of management of natural resources and minerals in the area. At the same time, it inspected signs of violations against Mr. Duong Thanh Cuong in advising, organizing the implementation and management of natural resources and minerals in the area according to the working regulations of the Party Committee and regulations of law during this term.
Through inspection, it was found that Mr. Duong Thanh Cuong violated the principle of democratic centralism, violated working regulations; lacked responsibility in performing assigned duties and tasks... Mr. Duong Thanh Cuong is primarily responsible for the violations and shortcomings of the Nhon Phuc Commune Party Committee for the 2020-2025 term.
Mr. Duong Thanh Cuong's violations are serious and difficult to overcome, causing bad public opinion among cadres, party members and people of Nhon Phuc commune; reducing the prestige of himself and the party organization, the agency where Mr. Duong Thanh Cuong lives and works.
The Inspection Committee of An Nhon Town Party Committee also disciplined Mr. Nguyen Kim Lan - Party Committee member, Vice Chairman of Nhon Phuc Commune People's Committee with a reprimand; and disciplined Captain Le Cong Thang - Standing Committee member of the Party Committee, Head of Nhon Phuc Commune People's Committee with a reprimand.
