On the afternoon of January 16, the Ministry of Public Security organized a conference to summarize activities in 2025, deploy tasks for 2026 of Steering Committee 57 and Steering Committee 158 of the Ministry of Public Security.
General Luong Tam Quang - Member of the Politburo, Minister of Public Security, Head of Steering Committee 57 and Steering Committee 158 of the Ministry of Public Security chaired the conference.
At the Conference, Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Long - Deputy Minister of Public Security, Deputy Head of Steering Committee 57 and Steering Committee 158 of the Ministry of Public Security said that in the past time, the Ministry of Public Security has drastically implemented tasks and solutions to make breakthroughs in science and technology, innovation, and digital transformation.
Notably, proactively advising on orienting the development of the security industry towards autonomy, dual-use, and modernity; continuing to play a core role in the implementation of Project 06 and the operation of the National Data Center.
In parallel with the promulgation of resolutions and decisions of the Central Public Security Party Committee, the Ministry of Public Security also mentioned linking the responsibility of heads and promoting digital transformation to commune-level police.
However, in reality, there is still a problem that some heads of police units and localities have not fully recognized the orientations, tasks, and new solutions in developing the security industry according to Conclusion 158.
Data has been created and shared, but basically it is still scattered, lacks synchronization, lacks intercommunication between databases, and has not fully promoted the effectiveness of data sharing to serve administrative procedures, direction, and administration.
At the conference, Major General Vu Van Tan - Director of the Department of Administrative Management of Social Order (C06) - informed that to date, more than 87 million citizen identification cards with chip are issued.
Approving and issuing 67 million VNeID accounts, 86.97% of people aged 15 and over already have bank accounts. Issuing 20 million digital signatures and 39.52% of the population has access to 5G networks.
At the conference, General Luong Tam Quang said that in 2025, the implementation of the task of developing science and technology, innovation, digital transformation and Project 06 of the Police force continues to maintain the pace and progress of work as in previous years and has some outstanding highlights.
The first is to complete the two national data centers on schedule, doing a good job of advising and urging the formation of 46 databases that are ready for connection, 8 databases have completed synchronous interconnection with the national data center and are initially entering the reduction of administrative procedures.
The second result is to build and improve the law, remove bottlenecks, create a legal foundation for implementing Resolution 57, actively and effectively implement many new regulations on protecting state secrets, network security, protecting personal data, strongly promoting innovation in digital transformation, and at the same time requiring higher and stricter requirements on network security and data security.
The third result is to continue to maintain the role of advising and urging the implementation of Project 06, especially urging and guiding the reduction of dossier components that are replaced by data, contributing to reducing the localization of administrative procedures. VNeID continues to have some new utilities, the National Public Service Portal, the Ministry of Public Security Online Public Service Portal serving people and businesses better and better.
The fourth result, digital transformation within the Public Security sector, and working status transformation on the electronic environment have had breakthrough changes.
