On June 5, the People's Committee of Dong Nai province issued a decision to change the purpose of using more than 2.5 hectares of protective forests to other purposes to implement the Phuoc An bridge project (Phu My town, Ba Ria - Vung Tau province and Nhon Trach district, Dong Nai province).
The converted forest area includes a part of 33 forest lots in compartment 3, sub-compartment 223 in Phuoc An commune, Nhon Trach district managed by the Long Thanh Protective Forest Management Board.
The Phuoc An Bridge project connecting Nhon Trach district (Dong Nai) with Phu My town (Ba Ria - Vung Tau province) has a total length of more than 4.3km, with a total investment of nearly VND4,900 billion. Phuoc An Bridge is expected to be completed and put into operation in the 2021-2025 period.
Phuoc An Bridge connects the Ben Luc - Long Thanh, Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay Expressway with Cai Mep - Thi Vai Port area, helping to transport goods from the Mekong Delta and neighboring areas to Cai Mep - Thi Vai Port cluster and vice versa.
Phuoc An Bridge also shares and reduces the overloaded traffic volume on National Highway 51.
