On November 28, Thanh Hoa Provincial Police said that Dong Tien Commune Police had just coordinated with functional units to organize the destruction of more than 5 kg of pork infected with African swine fever previously seized.

The destruction process was carried out strictly, fully complying with animal disease prevention regulations, ensuring disease safety and environmental sanitation. Before, during and after the destruction, the forces sprayed venom, disinfected the burial area, barns, entrances and surrounding areas to minimize the risk of spreading.
Previously, on November 20, while on duty in Quan Nham 1 village, the Crime Prevention Police Team of Dong Tien Commune Police discovered the family of Mr. Nguyen Van H (born in 1978) slaughtering pigs with signs of suspected illness.
On-site inspection, the authorities discovered 532kg of pork that had been slaughtered. Initial verification shows that Mr. H bought these pigs from Tho Phu commune and some floating traders, without documents proving their origin or quarantine.
After seizing, sealing and freezing all exhibits, Dong Tien Commune Police traced the origin and took samples and sent them to the Department of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Medicine for examination. The results showed that all of the above meats were positive for African swine fever virus.
