On the morning of November 7, Mr. Nguyen Quoc Hoang - Head of the Urban Infrastructure Economic Department of Vung Ang Ward - said that in early November, there were 2 outbreaks of African swine fever in the ward.
In particular, at Mr. Le Minh Huy's household (Tan Phong residential group), the epidemic appeared on a total of 161 pigs, of which 120 pigs had to be destroyed with a weight of more than 6.6 tons.
At Mr. Nguyen Tu Phuong's household (Truong Son residential group), 25 pigs were sick and forced to be completely destroyed with a total weight of nearly 2.7 tons.
According to Mr. Hoang, after detecting the epidemic, the People's Committee of Vung Ang ward coordinated with the veterinary agency to collect samples for testing, destroy all sick pigs, and spray disinfectants in the entire area around the outbreak.
Up to now, Vung Ang ward has distributed more than 50 liters of chemicals and more than 500 kg of lime powder to spray poison and disinfect areas infected with epidemics.
Residential groups are required to report the situation of the pigs every day, paying special attention to large-scale livestock households to promptly detect and handle any unusual signs.

The government has continuously advised people not to hide the epidemic, not to dump pigs, not to buy and sell pork of unknown origin, and at the same time coordinated with police forces to patrol and prevent the transportation of livestock out of the epidemic area.
Previously, at the end of October, the Department of Crop Production and Livestock of Ha Tinh informed that the whole province had 49/69 communes and wards with African swine fever in less than 21 days with 11,618 pigs infected with disease, dead, and forced to be destroyed.
