On October 25, Ms. Hoang Thi Ngoc Diep - Deputy Head of the Department of Crop Production and Livestock of Ha Tinh - said that the current epidemic situation in livestock and poultry in provinces and cities across the country is very complicated.
In Ha Tinh, with a complex area, many trade activities, trade, transportation of animals and animal products, and many national highways running through the area; along with harsh weather ( frequent floods, inundation, severe heat...) have greatly affected production development and disease prevention for animals.
In addition, the total number of large, small-scale livestock and poultry farming accounts for a fairly high proportion, livestock farming conditions are not guaranteed, difficulties in applying disease safety measures; pathogens left in the environment... greatly affecting the work of preventing and controlling animal diseases.
A number of livestock farmers, traders, transporters, slaughterers and practitioners have not complied with and fully implemented regulations on disease prevention and control, and there are still cases: buying pigs of unknown origin for farming, buying sick pigs, pigs with signs of illness at livestock farming households, throwing pig carcasses dead from the disease into the environment...
Currently, the whole province of Ha Tinh has 49 communes/69 communes and wards with African swine fever in less than 21 days with 11,618 pigs infected with disease, dead, and forced to be destroyed.
Faced with the complicated developments of the epidemic, the Department of Crop Production and Livestock has advised the Department of Agriculture and Environment to submit to the Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial People's Committee to issue many documents directing focused disease prevention.
The province has provided 7,200 liters of chemicals; proactively monitored the epidemic, and provided guidance on disease prevention measures.
Strengthen propaganda work, provide technical guidance for people to restore sustainable and safe production, and provide guidance on recasting biosafety.
Coordinate with functional forces (Economic Police Department, Traffic Police Department - Provincial Police, Market Management Department) and localities to inspect and handle cases of transportation and slaughter of animals and animal products in the province.

According to Ms. Hoang Thi Ngoc Diep - Deputy Head of the Department of Crop Production and Livestock of Ha Tinh, after the flood, the epidemic situation in cattle and poultry in Ha Tinh in particular, many provinces and cities across the country in general will continue to be complicated, with the risk of increasing the number of sick and destroyed cattle.
Therefore, Ha Tinh needs to continue to implement drastic and synchronous anti-epidemic solutions. In particular, focusing on mobilizing resources, promptly allocating funds, materials, and disinfectants to completely handle African swine fever outbreaks.
Continue to strengthen inspection and closely monitor the epidemic situation, completely handle outbreaks, prevent epidemics from breaking out and spreading widely.
Strictly manage the trading, transportation, and slaughter of animals and animal products in the area.
Strictly handle cases of trade, transportation, slaughter, consumption of sick or suspected sick animals, and dumping of dead animals into the environment.
Absolutely do not increase herds or re-herd when biosafety and disease safety conditions are not ensured.
Speed up the vaccination progress for the second phase of 2025 for livestock as planned.
