On the evening of November 7, speaking with Lao Dong, Ms. Trinh Thi Duyen - Chairman of Phuc Khanh Commune People's Committee confirmed - that an accident had just occurred in the commune, killing one person.
Initial information, at around 1:30 p.m. the same day, at the construction area of Viet Tien Hydropower Plant, a male worker (residing in Bao Ha commune, Lao Cai province) was electrocuted to death.
Through investigation, the victim worked in the concrete mixing department of a construction company outside and was found dead in a stream near the construction area.
At the scene, an electric pumping machine was believed to have an open wiring. According to initial assessment, the victim may have been electrocuted and fallen into the stream.
After the incident, local authorities and representatives of the construction unit were present at the scene to coordinate in handling, protecting the area and reporting to the authorities.
The cause of the incident is being investigated and clarified by the authorities.
