The Vietnam Buddhist Academy in Ho Chi Minh City is entering the final stage to prepare for the 2025 United Nations Vesak Festival taking place from May 6 to 8.
The event is expected to gather a large number of monks, Buddhists and international delegates, marking one of the largest Buddhist activities in Vietnam this year.
Not only a spiritual festival, Vesak 2025 is also an opportunity to widely introduce the identity of Vietnamese Buddhism and promote the message of peace, understanding and cooperation among countries.
Venerable Thich Duc Thien - Vice President, General Secretary of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha, and Vice President, General Secretary of the National Organizing Committee of the United Nations Vesak 2025 - said that up to now, the key items serving the holiday have been basically completed.

In which, the main hall with a capacity of 2,700 seats and 5 halls for scientific seminars have been completed. The areas for organizing cultural festivals, flower lantern rituals and Buddhist art exhibitions are also being urgently completed, ensuring progress.
Within the framework of the 2025 United Nations Vesak Festival, an international art exchange program will be held at Sa La Theater (Thu Duc City), gathering artists from many countries and territories, promising to bring a unique space for cultural exchange.
The grand ceremony will officially take place from May 6 to 8 at the Vietnam Buddhist Academy of Ho Chi Minh City (Le Minh Xuan commune, Binh Chanh district) with the theme: "Solidarity and tolerance for humanity: Buddhist cultivation for world peace and sustainable development".
This is the fourth time Vietnam has been honored to host this important event, thereby continuing to affirm the active role of Vietnamese Buddhism in international forums, while contributing to promoting the image of a country that loves peace, is rich in cultural traditions and is friendly with friends around the world.
