Representatives of the Traffic Police Department said that the traffic volume returning to Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City on new expressways reached 56,516 (~44.42%) vehicles entering; and about 708,828 (~55.57%) are expected to continue moving on February 22.
Accordingly, the Traffic Police Department plans to organize traffic lane separation according to the direction depending on the time when the number of vehicles pouring into Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City increases, the risk of prolonged congestion will temporarily ban the direction of the road out of the city to prioritize reserving roads for vehicles entering the city, belonging to the following expressways:
The Phap Van - Cau Gie route will temporarily ban the direction from Hanoi to Thanh Hoa; The Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay route will temporarily ban the direction from Ho Chi Minh City to Long Thanh; The Ho Chi Minh City - Trung Luong - My Thuan route will temporarily ban the direction from Ho Chi Minh City to Trung Luong.
Request traffic participants to comply with traffic regulation and traffic command of traffic police forces on highways," said a representative of the Traffic Police Department.
Also according to the unit, the total number of vehicles entering the expressway connecting to the city center of Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City in 2 days, February 14-15, is 1,275,344 turns; on February 21, 566,516 (~44.42%) turns of vehicles entering the expressway were recorded; and about 708,828 (~55.57%) are expected to continue moving on February 22.

Hanoi area: Noi Bai - Lao Cai expressway is 92. 989/200. 408 (46.39%); Hanoi - Hai Phong 101. 630/226. 290 (44.91%); Bac Giang - Lang Son 12, 013/19. 658 (61.1%); Phap Van - Cau Gie - Cao Bo - Mai Son - National Highway 45 - Nghi Son is 192. 564/487. 505 (39.5%);
Ho Chi Minh City area: Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay - Phan Thiet - Vinh Hao - Cam Lam - Nha Trang expressway is 88. 215/204. 194 (43.2%); Ho Chi Minh City - Trung Luong - My Thuan - Can Tho is 56. 433/103. 953 (54.28%); Ben Luc - Long Thanh is 22. 672/33. 336 (68%).
