On September 10, the Traffic Police Department (CSGT) of the Ministry of Public Security informed about a serious traffic accident that occurred at 12:57 pm yesterday (September 9) at km 51+400m National Highway 6 in Lam Son residential group, Luong Son commune, Phu Tho province.
Accordingly, the Traffic Police Department, at the above time, a tractor-trailer with license plate 28H-006. xx pulling a semi-trailer with license plate 29R-533. xx collided with a 16-seater passenger car with license plate 29E-083. xx moving in the opposite direction.
Images from the dashcam on the 16-seater passenger car before the accident showed that although it was raining, the road surface was slippery, curved, but the driver of the tractor-trailer did not slow down when going into a curve. Therefore, the rear of the trailer was thrown off to the opposite lane, colliding with the 16-seater passenger car.
The consequence of the collision was 2 deaths and one injury. The cause of the traffic accident is being verified and clarified by the Investigation Police Agency of Phu Tho Provincial Police according to the provisions of law.
From the above incident, the Traffic Police Department said that the Law on Road Traffic Order and Safety and road driving experience show that when drivers or vehicle operators encounter bad weather, rain, fog, limited visibility, slippery road surfaces or on narrow, curved, and steep roads..., vehicle operators need to pay attention to:
Focus on driving, pay attention to observation; Turn on near lights, fog lights; Drive the car slowly (preferably no more than 40 km/h); Keep a safe distance from the car in front;
Do not overtake vehicles (because the road is small, only two sections of road for vehicles to drive, bad weather, slippery, if overtaking vehicles will cause danger to yourself and traffic participants in the opposite direction).
Also after the above incident, the Traffic Police Department said that it will advise to supplement regulations into the Law on Road Traffic Order and Safety on mandatory speed reduction appropriately when encountering bad weather, thunderstorms, fog, limited visibility...
