On the afternoon of December 11, at the 5th Session, the People's Council of Da Nang City officially approved the Proposal of the City People's Committee on the commitment to allocate an additional 173 billion VND from the local budget to complete the project to renovate and upgrade National Highway 14B.
According to the Submission, the National Highway 14B Renovation and Upgrade Project initially had a total investment of VND 788.446 billion. However, during the implementation process, the project has generated a compensation and site clearance cost of about 187.181 billion VND, causing the total "team" investment to increase to 961.293 billion VND. The main reason is pointed out to be the updated new land price list and the addition of support and compensation policies for people.
This arising cost is divided into two parts: the central budget capital increased by about 96 billion VND and the Da Nang budget capital increased by 77 billion VND.
The Ministry of Construction issued a written response, stating that the Ministry has allocated enough capital for the project as planned until the end of 2025 and this project is not included in the Ministry's medium-term public investment plan for the period 2026 - 2030.
Therefore, the Ministry of Construction recommends that Da Nang urgently balance and arrange all additional capital from the local budget to invest in completing the project.
