On August 6, Dak Lak Provincial People's Committee informed that the unit had just submitted to the Provincial People's Council for consideration and approval the Plan for socio-economic development, ensuring national defense and security for the period 2026-2030, which sets a target of GRDP growth averaging 11%/year or more.
According to the report, in the period 2021-2025, despite being affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, natural disasters and climate change, Dak Lak's socio-economy still achieved many positive results.
The average GRDP growth rate at comparative prices reached about 5.81%/year. The economic scale in 5 years reached about 904,702 billion VND, an average increase of 11.9%/year; in 2025 alone, it reached 226,875 billion VND, an increase of 73% compared to 2020...
However, the Provincial People's Committee assessed that the economic structure is still shifting slowly, and growth is still heavily dependent on the agricultural sector. Deep processing industry, logistics and high-quality services, although having developed, have not created a strong shift in economic structure...
In the period 2026-2030, Dak Lak sets a goal to become a dynamic developing province of the country by 2030; becoming a green economic, logistics, health, education, tourism, culture - sports and science - technology center of the South Central Coast and Central Highlands regions.
The province also aims to develop a synchronous and modern infrastructure system, strengthening inter-provincial, inter-regional and international connectivity.
The Provincial People's Committee proposed that the Provincial People's Council approve 46 key targets for the 2026-2030 period in the fields of economy, culture - society, environment and national defense, security.

Mr. Truong Cong Thai - Vice Chairman of Dak Lak Provincial People's Committee informed that, according to the submission, to achieve the "double-digit" economic growth target, the province identified 5 breakthrough orientations, including perfecting institutions, building a modern administration; effectively mobilizing resources, developing strategic infrastructure; taking science, technology, innovation, digital transformation and high-quality human resources as growth drivers.
Develop Nam Phu Yen Economic Zone, Buon Ma Thuot urban area and economic corridors into growth poles. At the same time, strongly develop the private economy, green economy, digital economy, marine economy and deep processing industry.
In particular, the Provincial People's Committee also set out 9 groups of tasks and solutions, focusing on reorganizing the development space after the merger, improving the investment environment, developing infrastructure, restructuring the economy, promoting science and technology and digital transformation, improving the quality of human resources, ensuring social security, protecting the environment, strengthening national defense, security and international integration.
After the Provincial People's Council approves the plan, the Provincial People's Committee will issue a detailed plan, assigning departments, branches and localities to develop implementation programs, clearly defining goals, progress, resources and responsibilities of heads.
