On the morning of October 1, the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting issued a bulletin warning of a high risk of flash floods, landslides, and land subsidence due to heavy rain and floods in the northern provinces, Thanh Hoa and Nghe An.
Accordingly, in the past 24 hours (from 7:00 a.m. on September 30 to 7:00 a.m. on October 1), the Northern region, Thanh Hoa and Nghe An have suffered heavy to very heavy rain.
Rainfall recorded at many measuring stations has exceeded the alarm level. In Dong Quang (Thai Nguyen) 227mm, Cao Bo (Tuyen Quang) 198,6mm, Huong Nhuong (Phu Tho) 159.4mm, Tam Hop (Nghe An) 154.4mm.
Soil moisture models show that many areas are saturated or near-saturated, with an increased risk of landslides and flash floods.
Tuyen Quang, Thai Nguyen, Thanh Hoa provinces will continue to have 20-50mm rain, some places over 100mm; Lao Cai, Phu Tho, Lang Son, Cao Bang, Nghe An provinces will continue to have 10-30mm rain, some places at peak times can exceed 60mm.
In the next 6 hours, there is a risk of flash floods on small rivers and streams, landslides on steep slopes in many localities. This risk will continue for the next 24 hours.
The risk of natural disasters is determined by level, in which the provinces of Thai Nguyen, Lao Cai, Cao Bang, Phu Tho are forecast to be at risk of level 3. In particular, Tuyen Quang is warned of the highest risk.
