Meeting reporters, households said that the landslides on the banks of the Lo River here started from storm No. 3 Yagi in 2024, the river water level rose, sweeping away many areas of soil, crops and architectural objects of the people. By the two recent storms No. 10 and No. 11, the situation became increasingly serious, landslides approached residential areas, threatening the safety of many households living outside the dike.
Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Toan - a resident of the Congress area - shared: "The landslide has washed away about 30 to 40m of soil from the river to the shore, if we count the entire land area, it is probably up to a thousand square meters, old bamboo and many coconut and acacia trees that my family planted, now the large cage is about to collapse".
