On June 24, at the 35th session, the People's Council of Binh Thuan province passed a Resolution on the investment policy for the road project from Le Duan - Truong Chinh intersection (Phan Thiet city) to the expressway intersection and land fund on both sides of the road.
Currently, from the center of Phan Thiet city, if you want to go to Ba Bau intersection to get to Phan Thiet - Dau Giay expressway, you have to go on National Highway 1, go back to Dong Nai for about 13 km, then turn onto the access road for about 2.5 km to get to the expressway.

And from the exit of Phan Thiet - Dau Giay Expressway, you want to go to the center of Phan Thiet as well. However, on weekends and holidays, there are often traffic jams and congestion at the Ba Bau intersection and the intersection to National Highway 1A. Along with that, the Vinh Hao - Phan Thiet expressway in the North - South direction to enter the center of Phan Thiet city must go through the intersection with National Highway 28.
Therefore, to connect and shorten travel time from important traffic routes such as the North - South expressway, high-speed railway station, bypass road through Phan Thiet city (ring road 2), Truong Chinh street, provincial bus station in the future to the center of Phan Thiet city and vice versa, investing in the road project from the Le Duan - Truong Chinh intersection to the expressway intersection and land funds on both sides of the road is very necessary.

The project is about 12 km long, including the intersection of the North-South expressway overpass and branch roads in and out of the expressway. The project is expected to have a scale of 12 lanes. In the first phase, 6 lanes for motor vehicles, 10 m wide sidewalks, and technical infrastructure works will be invested. Invest in the construction of 2 new reinforced concrete bridges on the route.

The project also reclaims land along both sides of the road and the land planned to be a provincial bus station to reserve land to call for investment. The project has a site clearance area of about 242 hectares (including traffic routes and land acquisition along both sides of the route). The total investment is expected to be 4,712 billion VND, the project implementation period is 5 years, of which the project will be implemented in the period of 2026 - 2029.
When completed, the project will open up Phan Thiet urban space, creating new momentum to contribute to promoting the development of the East - West economic corridor of the province.
