On October 11, information from the Gia Lai Provincial Party Executive Committee said that at the 17th Conference, it considered and decided to discipline Director of the Department of Internal Affairs Nguyen Dinh Tien with a reprimand.
At the Conference, based on the inspection results and the implementation results of the review process, disciplinary action will be taken against party members under its authority.
The Gia Lai Provincial Party Committee Executive Committee found that during his time as Party Secretary, Director of the Department of Internal Affairs, and account holder of the agency (from November 2020 to 2023), Mr. Nguyen Dinh Tien was responsible as the head for the shortcomings and violations of the collective.
Mr. Tien is directly and personally responsible for shortcomings and violations in the management and use of funding sources at the Department of Home Affairs and the Provincial Religious Committee.
Mr. Tien's violations have negatively affected the reputation of himself and the Party organization, agency and unit where he lives and works, to the point that disciplinary action must be considered.
Based on the content, nature, level, consequences, and cause of the violation, the Gia Lai Provincial Party Executive Committee decided to discipline Mr. Nguyen Dinh Tien with a reprimand.
Previously, the Gia Lai Provincial Inspectorate issued a conclusion on a financial inspection at the Gia Lai Provincial Department of Home Affairs. In it, it was determined that the Provincial Religious Committee used funds allocated for religious work to set up expenses that were not included in State regulations.
The total amount of money spent against regulations at the Gia Lai Provincial Religious Committee from 2015 to 2023 is 8.35 billion VND.
In addition, the inspection agency discovered that the leaders and accountants of Gia Lai Department of Home Affairs paid for a number of tasks in violation of regulations with the amount of 963 million VND.
