On the morning of November 23, information from the Khanh Hoa Provincial Traffic Police said that the serious traffic congestion that had lasted for many days in the Co Ma Pass area on National Highway 1 had been resolved, and vehicles were able to circulate normally again.
The authorities have cleared all traffic jams on National Highway 1 through Co Ma Pass. By the evening of November 22, all vehicles had been moving through Ca Pass. Traffic police remain on duty at the scene to regulate and ensure safety for vehicles passing.
According to the authorities, the traffic jam started on the evening of November 19 due to heavy rain and floods causing landslides in many places at Co Ma Pass and Ca Pass. At the same time, the area north of Ca Pass in Dak Lak province was deeply flooded, causing severe damage to National Highway 1 and forcing the temporary closure of the road.

The interruption of traffic for many days has caused the increasingly large number of vehicles, creating great pressure on National Highway 1. To reduce the load on Van Gia intersection - a traffic jam hot spot - the Traffic Police Department has coordinated with Khanh Hoa Intersection Police and neighboring provinces to remotely divert traffic.
The working groups have regulated vehicles from the highway to National Highway 1 at the Vinh Hao - Phan Thiet, Cam Lam - Vinh Hao, Nha Trang - Cam Lam and Van Phong - Nha Trang intersections.
However, by the afternoon of November 22, the traffic flow from the south of Co Ma tunnel was still extended for more than 30km, connecting to Van Ninh commune. The main types of vehicles stuck include trucks, container trucks and long-distance passenger cars.
By the morning of November 23, the authorities had cleared the route, ensuring safe traffic in both directions. The work of repairing landslides and damaged road surfaces continues to be implemented to prevent the risk of congestion again in complicated weather conditions.
