On July 14, the An Giang Provincial Party Committee held a scientific workshop on the orientation of socio-economic development and comments on documents of the An Giang Provincial Party Congress for the 2025-2030 term.
The workshop focused on presentations, discussions, and clarification of 10 key groups of issues. Regarding the development orientation of the province, especially the key tasks and strategic breakthroughs of An Giang province; Planning orientation for An Giang province to develop rapidly, harmoniously and sustainably, especially developing Phu Quoc into an international special zone; Integrated approach between the marine, border and inland economy, becoming new growth drivers of An Giang province's economy...
Chairman of An Giang Provincial People's Committee Ho Van Mung said that the leaders, former leaders, experts, and scientists basically agreed with the socio-economic development orientation of An Giang province in the 2025-2030 term according to the draft political report submitted at the workshop. In which, focused on assessing and clarifying the achieved results, bottlenecks, potential advantages, and forecasts in the coming time. In particular, it proposed to give opinions on many ideas and solutions to make An Giang province a center of the country's marine economy, a fairly developed province, and a growth pole of the Mekong Delta.

The workshop also focused on discussing and giving comments on Party building work, considering this a key task throughout the process of leadership activities and implementation of political tasks of An Giang province.
Through discussion, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee said that the opinions at the workshop were basically consistent with the development orientation of the province in the coming time, focusing on 6 general contents that are concise, easy to understand and will be easy to implement in the coming time. That is the motto of one-stop-shop, two-stop-shop, three-breakthrough, four-pillar, five key economic zones and six portfolios that need to be prioritized for implementation in the coming time.
Presenting a speech at the workshop, Associate Professor, Dr. Bui Van Huyen - Director of the Institute of Economics - Society and Environment, Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics said: A whole is understood as a province, a vision, an action, an belief. The two connecting axes include the intra-regional vertical axis (Vam Cong - Rach Soi route) and the horizontal axis (Chau Doc - Can Tho - Soc Trang expressway). The three breakthroughs include developing the marine economy; developing infrastructure; applying science, technology and digital transformation. The four pillars of development include developing science, technology, innovation, creativity and digital transformation; developing the private economy; perfecting development institutions; strengthening regional and international integration, cooperation and linkage.

Five key regions, including: Rach Gia, Long Xuyen, Phu Quoc, Chau Doc, Ha Tien. Six key categories include the Planning Review Project; the Long Xuyen Quadrangle Development Project, Phu Quoc Special Zone, Border Gate Economy, marine Economy; Private Economic Development Project; Infrastructure Development Program; Human Resources Development Project; Provincial Economic Shaping Project.
The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee said that experts, scientists, and delegates also suggested that the province continue to analyze the differences, vision and breakthroughs to implement the 6 contents that have been proposed. The political report editing team seriously accepted the opinions expressed to clarify and determine more specifically the development orientations in the coming time.
The province highly appreciates and accepts the practical speeches with the urgent and long-term strategic orientation and solutions of An Giang province. Along with the opinions discussed at the upcoming grassroots congress as well as comments from cadres, party members and people, the state will continue to coordinate to complete the political report.
