On June 12, informing about the implementation of the program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses in Dien Bien province, Mr. Nguyen Minh Luong - Deputy Director of the Department of Construction said that the whole province has 5,120 houses under renovation and repair (reaching 94.4% of total demand).
According to the plan, in 2025, the whole province must complete the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses for 5,443 households. Of which, 4,413 poor households were supported to build new houses and 1,030 near-poor households were supported to build new and repair.
Mr. Luong added that from the allocated capital and support from organizations and individuals, the province has completed the allocation of 304.4 billion VND (100%) for districts to build houses for poor and near-poor households.
Accordingly, there are currently 5,120 poor and near-poor households that have completed their houses and are repairing their houses.

In addition, the provincial "For the Poor" Fund has completed support for building houses for 311 households and coordinated direct support for 4 families with a total of 15.75 billion VND.
At the meeting of the Steering Committee for the implementation of social housing policies for policy beneficiaries organized by the Dien Bien Provincial Party Committee on the afternoon of June 12.
Mr. Tran Quoc Cuong - Secretary of Dien Bien Provincial Party Committee suggested that as soon as the consolidation and announcement of the establishment of new communes according to the two-level government model is completed, the communes must urgently complete the Housing Steering Committee to ensure uninterrupted housing employment for poor and near-poor households.
Mr. Cuong also suggested that the entire new housing construction program for poor and near-poor households must be completed before August 31, 2025.
Along with that, the commune and provincial levels must simultaneously carry out the work to develop social housing and housing for meritorious people to ensure progress and quality.
