People in Ra Bhop village, Tay Giang commune, Da Nang city have just discovered a large crack on the top of a hill behind a residential area, about 500m from their residence. The crack, about 200m long, 2m wide and 2m deep, was determined to have formed after heavy rains in October and November.

This is a warning sign of a very high risk of landslides, which can directly threaten the lives and property of dozens of households living at the foot of the hill if heavy rain continues to occur.
Immediately after receiving the information, the leaders of Tay Giang commune and the commune Military Command inspected the scene, assessed the level of danger and the scope of impact.
Mr. Alang Toi - Vice Chairman of Tay Giang Commune People's Committee - said: "We are reviewing all households in the most at-risk area to prepare evacuation plans when necessary. At the same time, propose long-term solutions to stabilize the hilltop area to ensure the safety of the people".
The authorities have put up warning signs and set up barriers at the entrances to the top of the hill and areas at risk of landslides to prevent people from passing. The local government also urgently notified each household in the village.
According to the General Department of Natural Disaster Prevention, cracks on steep slopes appearing after heavy rain are a particularly dangerous sign, warning of landslides. People need to evacuate promptly and absolutely do not approach dangerous areas.

The locality recommends that people in Ra Bhop village absolutely do not go to the top of the hill, do not enter the area where ropes have been stretched and warning signs have been put up. The land here can slide at any time, especially in the case of continued heavy rain.
The government is continuing to monitor geological developments and prepare emergency evacuation plans to ensure the safety of the people.
