On October 10, Vice Chairman of Phu Tho Provincial People's Committee Phan Trong Tan signed and issued Document No. 2009/QD-UBND, deciding to terminate the validity of Mineral Exploitation Licenses No. 68/GP-UBND dated October 19, 2018, No. 09/GP-UBND dated January 19, 2022 issued by the Provincial People's Committee to Thong Nhat Joint Stock Company to exploit sand mines in the Red River bed in Cao Xa commune, Lam Thao district.
Accordingly, this 24.44-hectare riverbed sand mine will stop mining because the Mineral Exploitation License has expired according to the provisions of Point b, Clause 2, Article 58 of the Law on Minerals.
The decision of the People's Committee of Phu Tho province also stated that Thong Nhat Joint Stock Company is responsible for ending all mineral exploitation activities at the Red River sand mine in Cao Xa commune. From the time the license expires, the works and equipment ensuring mine safety and environmental protection in the mineral exploitation area owned by the state must not be dismantled or destroyed.
Within 6 months from the date the Mineral Exploitation License expires, the remaining assets of the company and related parties must be moved out of the exploitation area; after this period, the remaining assets shall belong to the State...
The Provincial People's Committee assigned the Lam Thao District People's Committee to coordinate with relevant agencies and units to monitor the compliance of Thong Nhat Joint Stock Company in the field according to the above content. At the same time, the Department of Natural Resources and Environment was assigned to coordinate with relevant agencies and units to guide and monitor the compliance of Thong Nhat Joint Stock Company in closing the mine.
