At about 4 am on March 30, in the Chien Thang port area, hamlet 2, Thanh Lan island, Co To special zone (Quang Ninh), thunderstorms accompanied by strong gusts of wind overturned a fishing raft anchored about 300m from the shore.
The owner of the vehicle is Mr. V.V.T (born in 1983, residing in Nam Trieu ward, Hai Phong city).
At the time of the incident, Mr. T was in the bow area, so he managed to jump into the sea to escape, while Ms. D. T. H (born in 1989, Mr. T's wife) and baby V.T. A (born in 2023, Mr. T's son) were trapped in the cockpit.

Immediately after receiving the news, leaders of the Co To special zone were present at the scene, directing border guards, police, and military forces to urgently deploy search and rescue operations.
At about 9 am on the same day, functional forces found and brought the bodies of the two victims ashore.
Local authorities have arranged vehicles to bring the bodies of the two victims to Van Don, and at the same time supported the families to take them back to their hometown for burial.
The People's Committee of Co To Special Zone, along with agencies, units, armed forces and people on Thanh Lan Island, supported the victim's family with a total amount of 44 million VND.
