Dong Thap Electronic Information Portal reported that on the morning of August 22, the People's Committee of Dong Thap province held a groundbreaking ceremony for the Provincial Road 864 project (from Long Binh to Den Do) under Provincial Road 864 project (Road along Tien River). The event aims to practically celebrate the 80th anniversary of the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025).
Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony, Chairman of Dong Thap Provincial People's Committee Tran Tri Quang emphasized that in the exciting atmosphere of the cadres and people of the province, on the occasion of celebrating the 80th anniversary of the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, the investment in the project is of great significance to gradually complete the main road along the Tien River connecting the East - West from Tan Thanh - My Tho marine economic zone and connecting to the Thuong Phuoc Border Gate Economic Zone in the future.
Thereby, gradually completing technical infrastructure to call for investment in the construction of seaports; urban areas, industrial parks along the Tien River, creating a premise to promote urban, commercial, service and tourism development, contributing to socio-economic development, ensuring security and national defense.
The Chairman of Dong Thap province requested the provincial departments, branches and localities where the project passes through, together with all people in the project area to create the most favorable conditions for investors and construction contractors.
Along with that, closely coordinate with the project investor, Design Consultant, Supervisory Consultant, and construction contractor to implement the project to ensure labor safety, quality, and on schedule, and soon put the project into effective operation, serving local socio-economic development.
Provincial Road 864 (section from Long Binh to Den Do) under the Provincial Road 864 project (Road along Tien River) was approved by the Provincial People's Committee in Decision No. 457/QD-UBND dated February 21, 2022.
The project starts at Km4+680, in Long Binh commune; the end point intersects with Provincial Road DT.862, in Go Cong Dong commune, with a length of about 14.79 km, a 11 m wide asphalt road surface, a 12 m wide roadbed, reaching level III plain.
On the route, invest in 02 bridges: Long Uong Bridge and Vam Kenh Bridge, bridge deck is 12 m wide; arrange a drainage system, road traffic safety ensures compliance with national technical standards on road signaling.
The scope of the project is divided into 02 sections, section 1 from Long Binh - Phuoc Trung; section 2 from Phuoc Trung to Den Do, with a total implementation value of about 487 billion VND.
