On March 29, contractors are accelerating the construction progress of the Suoi Cai dredging and reinforcement project from Tho Ut bridge to Dong Nai river (abbreviated as the Suoi Cai project, section through Tan Uyen city, former Binh Duong province).
After more than 2 years of construction, the concreted shape of Suoi Cai has been formed. The first section from Tho Ut bridge to Ben San bridge, nearly 6 km long, is about to be completed.
Under the bed of Suoi Cai, stone is paved and concrete is poured. Both banks are also built with solid concrete slabs. Above, the railing is fenced with solid iron and steel. Notably, along both sides are built 2 roads about 10 m wide, opening up a new urban development space for the area that was originally rice fields and swamps.
According to the Ho Chi Minh City Urban Infrastructure Project Management Board (the unit assigned as the investor), the section from Tho Ut bridge to Ben San bridge has 2 construction packages. It is expected that these 2 packages will be completed as early as April 30th.

11 other packages are being urgently constructed, including 3 packages for relocating power grids. These packages are also being accelerated. Currently, the construction progress of the packages has reached from 20% to 98%. It is expected that the packages will be completed by the end of December 2026.
It is known that the Suoi Cai dredging and reinforcement project from Tho Ut bridge to Dong Nai river has a total investment of more than 5.892 billion VND. The project is about 19km long, passing through Binh Duong ward, Tan Hiep ward and Tan Khanh ward, invested by the Project Management Board of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Binh Duong province (now the Ho Chi Minh City Urban Infrastructure Project Management Board).
The project's objective is to drain rainwater and treated wastewater for a basin area of 22,503ha. Contributing to environmental improvement, urban embellishment, and creating a premise for building 37.8 km of regional-level traffic roads.

Unseasonal rain affects project progress
According to records, the project's construction site is being deployed in the Suoi Cai riverbed area. This place receives rainwater in a large area in Binh Duong ward. This year, many consecutive unseasonal rains affected the project's progress. The rains followed by heavy water poured down on the construction site, causing erosion of unfinished construction items. Units are both constructing and striving to clear the flow, preventing damage caused by rain and floods to the project.
