Information from the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting on October 5 shows that the water level of the Thao River (Red River) at Yen Bai station and Phu Tho station is changing slowly. The water level of the Lo River at Tuyen Quang station, Vu Quang station (Phu Tho) is decreasing, Tuyen Quang hydroelectric reservoir is currently open 3 bottom spillways, Thac Ba reservoir opens 2 surface spillways.

According to the Long-term Forecast Newsletter (from October 1 to 30, 2025), in September, the water level of the Thao River changed slowly in the early and mid-month period. At the end of the month, Thao River experienced a particularly large flood with the flood peak at Yen Bai station at 34.39m (at 11:00 on September 30), above BD3 at 2.39m, below the historical flood level of 1.34m; at Phu Tho station at 17.58m (at 1:00 p.m. on September 30), above BD1 at 0.08m.
It is forecasted that in the first half of October, there will be a flood on the Thao River with a water amplitude of 2 - 5m. In the first half of the following month, the river water level will change with a downward trend.

For the Lo River, in September, the water level also changed slowly in the early stages and a flood appeared in the last days of the month due to the influence of the circulation of Storm No. 10 Bualoi, Tuyen Quang Lake operated to regulate the opening of 8 bottom spillways with the largest water level at Tuyen Quang Station at 24.09m, above BD2 0.09m, Vu Quang Station (Phu Tho) at 16.94m at 11pm on September 30.

After the first days of October, the flood of the Lo River at Tuyen Quang station and Vu Quang station rose due to the impact of the circulation of storm No. 10, the water level of the Lo River is forecast to change slowly and be affected by the regulation of the hydropower plant on the upper route.
